Sunday Night Mind Dump…

  • Crazy weekend
  • Normally, I write this on Saturday night, but never actually got to it
  • I left for school today, so I’m writing in Philadelphia where it is cold and rainy, can’t imagine why I don’t live here anymore
  • We’ll pretend that today is Saturday
  • Church last night was good, not great, but a good night
  • It was a hard subject to teach on, a lot of questions
  • It was one of those nights where I felt the weight of preaching, the weight of speaking God’s word
  • Never a bad thing, but hard to work through
  • I know that when you speak on pain and hurt in our world, you are doing it to people are hurting
  • The band nailed the music last night, they were right on
  • It just rocked, which is one of my dreams for people to say that Revolution is the church that rocks out
  • The drama was great, awesome having that aspect in our services
  • Hard time in the Q & A, working through doubts and suffering
  • It was awesome last night to hear of people who have just found Revolution
  • And to hear the pain in the stories of people and how God is working in their lives
  • I wish I could say that I’ve seen God do this in every church I’ve worked in, but I haven’t
  • Keep it up Revolution, God is changing people
  • Had one lady tell me that she’s been listening online for a few months and finally found the courage to come check us out and she loved it
  • Next week we’re going to talk about Understanding Jesus and what he’s all about, you don’t want to miss this
  • If you have friends who don’t know Jesus, you need to get them to church next week!
  • We are definitely going to lay it out for them
  • On the plane today I read The Shack, I’ll blog some thoughts later this week after I have some time to chew on it
  • On the plane today someone asked what I did and I said I’m a pastor. She looked at me and said, “That must be nice for you.” What other job gets that reaction?
  • Got to do my first wedding this past week, always great to be a part of that celebration
  • PaulDave and I went to Phoenix this past Friday for a Nelson Searcy seminar, great times
  • It definitely helped us to think through our small group and worship systems
  • Friday, Katie and I went to the Melting Pot, always a good place to eat
  • I’m excited about being able to connect with some old friends this week
  • Hopefully, I’m going to see Watchmen at the IMAX tomorrow, should be good
  • A week of talking about nothing but leadership, close to heaven
  • We’ll throw in some NFL trash talking and we’ll be all see
